An\n idea of creating automotive cluster was born concerning the location of\n big automotive branch investments in north-west part of Podkarpackie \nregion. In 2011, to perfectly functioning corporations such as Federal \nMogul, Kirchhoff, Uniwheels, LEAR, joined Pilkington Automotive Poland. \nThe company is a part of Japanese concern NSG Group and has carried out a\n project near Tarnobrzeg, which by Polish Agency of Information and \nForeign Investments S.A. is believed to be the biggest industry \ninvestment in Poland in 2011. Considerably, building so modern plant \ncaused the growth of agglomeration of international automotive companies\n and cooperative enterprises. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A\n number, size, and degree of enterprises concentration in so small area \nshow that this process is a model example of autonomous growth of \ncluster structure. Six automotive corporations are located in the area \nof Mielec, Tarnobrzeg, Gorzyce, and Stalowa Wola, with combined turnover\n above 6 milliards zlotys and employing over 13000 employees. The \nmanagers of these corporations are creating prestigious business \nenvironment and lead actions connected with plants extension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An\n initiative of integration was proposed by the General Manager of \nPilkington Automotive Poland of NSG Group, and received a positive \nresponse from other corporate leaders. In July 2014, an agreement \nconcerning the will of cooperation was signed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The signatories of letter of intent:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          Pilkington Automotive Poland, a part of Japanese concern NSG Group, a manufacturer of automotive glass to global car brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          Kirchhoff\n Polska Sp. Z o.o. Mielec, famous for its impressive modern technology \nof production, a manufacturer of metal components to automotive \nindustry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          Uniwheels Production Poland Sp.z o.o., a producer of wide choice of aluminium wheel rims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          Federal-Mogul, piston manufacturer (currently, 5 % of global production),<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          Lear Corporation Poland produces beams of electric conduits to automotive branch,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          T.C. D\u0119bica S.A. (the Goodyear Tyre & Rubber Company) is the biggest producer of tyres to all types of cars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among\n possible areas of collaboration concerning cluster activities is \nmanaging the communal waste, public utilities, research, an effective \nuse of human resources, trainings etc. To the circle of \ninitiators-signatories joined scientists from University of Science and \nTechnology (AGH) and Polytechnic of Rzesz\u00f3w interested in undertaking \nhuge innovative technological projects, such as European programme \nHorizon 2020 (Horyzont 2020).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 11th<\/sup>\n February 2015, Stalowa Wola, in centre of the most famous Polish \ninitiative a founding meeting took place and adopted EAA name. The \nfounding members are the General Managers of Pilkington Automotive \nPoland of NSG Group, Kirchhoff Polska, Federal Mogul, Uniwheels Polska, \nthe scientists from University of Science and Technology, Polytechnic of\n Rzesz\u00f3w, institutions representatives from business surroundings \nrepresented by Industry Development Agency of Tarnobrzeg.
